Emtelle, the leading global manufacturer of pre-connectorised, blown fibre cable and ducted network solutions, today announced a new collaboration with CommScope, a leading network technology company, to further expand its fibre connectivity portfolio.

CommScope FIST™- MSC, FIST™-EDSA & MJC closures are amongst the range additions that are fully compatible with the Emtelle range.

Under the agreement, Emtelle will integrate CommScope closures and connectivity products into its existing solutions. This will further enhance Emtelle’s solutions by marrying CommScope’s unique offering with Emtelle’s existing microduct and blown fibre cabling range.

Covering all requirements for a Fibre-to-the-X (FTTX) network – from distribution to the customer connection – the CommScope closure range has the benefit of tool free re-entry and boasts superior gel sealing technology. The range includes closures that cater for microduct connections, fibre splicing, fibre splitting, as well as closures which accommodate pre-connectorised and hardened connectors.

“The opportunity to work with CommScope is a natural fit for both companies and we are delighted to implement these new high-quality closures and connectivity products within our comprehensive solutions offering,” said Tony Rodgers, CEO at Emtelle. “This addition will further elevate our existing range and ensure Emtelle remains the full solution provider at the forefront of the industry. We have rigorously tested these products to ensure they offer maximum capability and are fully compatible with our fibre and microduct solutions.  We look forward to our customers experiencing the full benefits of the new range of complimentary solutions.”

The extensive portfolio includes the popular FISTTM EDSA (Fibre Optic Splice Closure), FIST™ MSC (Modular Splice Closure), FLAT FISTTM, MDCC (Micro Duct Cable Closure), MJC Copper Closure, OFDC (Fibre Optic Splice/Patch Closure), TENIOTM, CTU (Fibre Closure Termination Units for closures) plus many more existing and future product developments to come from CommScope. The FISTTM range and TENIOTM closures use the CommScope patented Interface System Management splice trays and attached organiser. This is the original single-element and single-circuit transient loss-controlled fibre closure and organiser system which has been adopted as the first choice for many installers in many regions.

CommScope’s gel sealing patented technology has excellent environmental security, self-healing capabilities and ensures fast closure and re-entry in the field, which allows for maintenance and future connections to be established in a simpler and less time-consuming way.

“With subscribers clamouring for technology, such as fibre, to deliver more and more bandwidth and a premium service quality, it is imperative network operators continue to look for faster ways to deploy high speed mobile and broadband networks,” said Stephanos Thomopoulos, vice president of Broadband Networks for Europe, at CommScope.  “Speedy and reliable connectivity supports economic growth and improved quality of life for everyone across the UK.”

The CommScope connectivity products will initially be offered by Emtelle in the UK, with scope to expand sales into Europe in the future. In the meantime, Emtelle has the ability to sell CommScope products in Europe through distributors.

Emtelle, global manufacturer of pre-connectorised, blown fibre cabling and ducted network solutions, announces today the first instalment of its focused expansion at the Emtelle GmbH manufacturing facility in Erfurt, Germany. New extrusion lines have been purchased to increase manufacturing capabilities at the German factory.

The purchase of new extrusion lines allows for high speed, quality and increased microduct capabilities at Emtelle GmbH.

This news comes as Emtelle GmbH ramps up focus on the German and wider European market by increasing capacity and capabilities in all aspects of the German business.  These state-of-the-art extrusion lines allow for high speed, efficient microduct manufacturing at the Erfurt-based plant.

Purchased from Maillefer, the global leader in wire, cable, pipe and tube production technologies, these new best-in-class extrusion lines provide Emtelle with the extra capability to manufacture microduct solutions to the highest quality. The new equipment is a noticeable addition to Emtelle’s already impressive production portfolio, where the company holds the title of Europe’s largest microduct manufacturer in terms of capacity with its existing 56 manufacturing lines.

Speaking of the purchase, Managing Director of Emtelle GmbH, Ralf Gorontzi said: “Emtelle has always been driven on delivering the highest quality product and service solutions to our customers across the globe. Our initial investment in the acquisition of Moore GmbH further emphasised our determination to be at the centre of the German and European market; but we won’t stop there – as the market grows, Emtelle too will grow, and the purchase of the new extrusion lines is a natural progression for the company. It’s important that we have the optimum technologies behind our product portfolio to manufacture our solutions in a high-quality way and this machinery from Maillefer allows us to do just that.”

Emphasizing this point, Philippe Moeschler, Maillefer’s VP for Pipe & Tube applications, stated: “Maillefer technologies guarantee excellent centricity and high stability of our customer’s products. By supplying such turn-key solutions to Emtelle, a customer who already excels in their manufacturing process, we assist them in expanding the existing range of extrusion lines. We expect to see Emtelle continue maximising output and to deliver more durable microduct solutions that are of the highest calibre”.

This investment comes as part of Emtelle’s ever-expanding focus and delivery to the European market, with more interesting developments to be announced from the leading manufacturer in the coming weeks.

Emtelle have been appointed as a key supplier of a range of fibre optic solutions and components, as part of the collective efforts between T-Mobile Netherlands, Primevest Capital Partners and VolkerWessels Telecom. Together the partners plan to build a new fibre network in the Loosduinen area in the Hague, connecting 25,000 households to a network with speeds of at least 1 Gigabit per second (Gbps) – with Emtelle fibre optic solutions in deployment. Preparations for the deployment started in June and construction will begin in August.

This comes as a progression from a previous project in 2019 where the partners connected 32,000 homes in the Segbroek neighbourhood of the Hague with Emtelle pre-installed fibre solutions being deployed to reach the outlined speeds. Whilst both projects are in the city of the Hague, both districts present different housing landscapes. In the Loosduinen district, most residential buildings are high rise apartments meaning Emtelle’s 2-fibre optical cable was the optimum solution for providing efficient and direct access to each home whether it be installed underground, aerially, or internally.

Henk van der Wal, Operations Manager at VolkerWessels Telecom explained why Emtelle was the supplier of choice by commentingWhilst it goes without saying that Emtelle solutions are of premium quality, their support and communication lead the way in terms of allowing networks to not only be reliable and efficient, it allows us to install a fibre optic network seamlessly. Having worked with Emtelle for many years now – including last year’s Segbroek district project – their service and supply provide us with the means of innovative deployment methods, allowing for  fast deployment while causing minimal inconvenience to the surrounding area.”

“We have been working closely with VolkerWessels Telecom for a long period of time creating bespoke solutions to improve their future fibre infrastructure. This project win is a direct result of our established relationship and the clear communication between both companies. It’s a pleasure to work with a contractor that is so ingrained in working with key telecommunication providers and look forward to building on this for years to come”Theun Tukkers, Emtelle added Theun Tukkers, Sales Manager Benelux of Emtelle.

Emtelle Celebrates B4RN Supply Milestone

$

Hawick, Scotland, 22 September 2020- Broadband for the Rural North Ltd (B4RN), a professionally designed fibre optic network run by a dedicated local team of landowners and volunteers, and Emtelle,  the global manufacturer of pre-connectorised, blown fibre cabling and ducted network solutions, have celebrated the installation of five million metres of Emtelle premium ducting solutions to connect thousands of rural communities in the North of England.

With the help of Emtelle’s innovative solutions and technical support, B4RN has been successfully building its own fibre network for years. Deployments involve digging the routes, laying the fibre and splicing the fibres – and it’s not just superfast but hyperfast, bringing broadband speeds of one gigabit per second to every home.

Since 2011, B4RN and Emtelle have worked in close collaboration and earlier this month they celebrated reaching the important milestone of the supply of five million metres of Emtelle ducting solutions. The event hosted at B4RN headquarters in Melling, Lancashire, involved Emtelle presenting the B4RN team with an exclusive golden 16/12mm Emtelle duct and a delicious, specially designed cake created by Hawick Baker named ‘Storm in a Teacup’.

Speaking on the milestone, Barry Forde, CEO at B4RN, said: “It has been a pleasure to work with Emtelle over the past nine years, it goes without saying that its solutions are of the highest quality. From supplying five million metres of ducts to providing on-going technical support, this strong relationship has allowed us to seamlessly connect thousands of homes and businesses across rural parts of Lancashire, Cumbria and Yorkshire. We look forward to ramping up our network deployments to bring more outstanding broadband to more rural communities.”

After years of slow broadband speeds leaving local residents struggling to stay connected, the rural community of Borwick were in need of a fast, reliable solution. While investigating options, Forde engaged in dialogue with Emtelle to discuss the products and solutions it could supply to facilitate such a project. Emtelle demonstrated that its FibreFlow™ Solution was ideal for the remote Fibre-To-The-Premises (FTTP) customers that B4RN wanted to connect.

Since then, Emtelle and B4RN have continued to work in tandem with Emtelle’s 7mm microducts being installed to the home from the bundle at the access chamber, while the 16mm microducts are used to provide large fibre count cables for B4RN’s backbone network. Emtelle provides product training and customer support to B4RN volunteers, so they are well equipped to solely deploy Emtelle microducts, ensuring the whole project remains within the community. Following the duct installation, Emtelle’s two and four blown fibre units are used to drop to the individual customer premises. This best practice has been shared widely over a series of regular Show-Tell Events hosted by B4RN and Emtelle where like-minded communities learn more about setting up their own fibre networks.

Simon Wade, Sales Manager at Emtelle, added: “We are honoured to be in partnership with B4RN, through sheer determination, it has not only brought a fit-for-purpose internet connection to rural homes, it has built a network that would be envied by most city dwellers. Thank you to the B4RN team for the custom – here’s to the next five million metres and our ongoing prosperous relationship.”

01/10/2020

The construction work for the expansion of the Emtelle GmbH started today with a ground-breaking ceremony. Together with State Secretary Valentina Kerst (State Secretary in the Thuringian Ministry of Economics, Science and Digital Society), Steffen Linnert (Deputy for Economic Affairs Erfurt), Wolfgang Jentz (Head of Department for Economic Development Erfurt) and Susann Martens (Director Investment Promotion Western Europe at LEG Thuringia), the responsible employees at Emtelle GmbH gave the “Go-ahead”.

With the acquisition of 17,000 m² of land next to its existing production facility, Emtelle, the global manufacturer of microduct and fibre optic cable solutions, is expanding its capacities in Erfurt. In May, the manufacturer announced an expansion of its production capacities with the purchase of two new extrusion lines. With the newly acquired property, Emtelle GmbH will expand its stocking capacities for microducts and fibre optic cables and set up test tracks and new customer training rooms. This enables Emtelle to serve its customers even more flexibly and quickly with high-quality products for the FTTH expansion. The existing administration and factory building will also be expanded and modernized at the same time.

Since the takeover of Moore GmbH with an amount of more than EUR 30 million in 2017 and the establishment of the Emtelle GmbH, over 80 employees now work at the Erfurt site, who are responsible for the production and sales of microducts. The new acquisition of the property underlines the focus on Germany and the surrounding markets, which Emtelle GmbH is currently pursuing. Since the establishment of the location in Erfurt, Emtelle in Germany has recorded an enormous growth. The purchase of the property is now another investment in more growth and capacity.

After the ground-breaking ceremony, those present were able to personally get an impression of the microduct production on site as part of a factory tour.

It’s a pleasure to work with a contractor that is so ingrained in working with key telecommunication providers and look forward to building on this for years to come” added Theun Tukkers, Sales Manager Benelux of Emtelle.
